Loose upper arm skin is most often related to weight changes and aging. After weight loss, the skin often fails to tighten, leaving undesirable excess skin. This extra tissue can be addressed with a brachioplasty. This procedure surgically removes the skin and fat along the undersurface of the upper arm giving a more youthful appearance. This also affords more clothing choices and improves self-esteem. Brachioplasty can be performed in conjunction with other procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and liposuction.
This procedure is typically performed under sedation or general anesthesia on an out-patient basis, meaning you will be able to go home that same day. Full recovery to normal activity level typically takes 2-3 weeks
