Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)

Surgery to reshape the nose, (rhinoplasty) is among the most common plastic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty is the operative procedure used to change or improve the shape of the nose. Nasal deformities may be congenital, may develop as the person grows or may be the result of injury. This procedure can reduce or increase the size of the nose, remove an unwanted hump, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the width of the nostrils, or change the angle between the nose and the upper lip. The procedure is also used to correct problems resulting from injury and can help relieve certain breathing difficulties. Rhinoplasty can be done at any time once nasal growth is complete. In women, this usually occurs by age thirteen, in men by age sixteen. This surgery can be done individually, though sometimes it is paired with chin augmentation to further enhance the outcome of the surgery.

This procedure is typically done under general anesthesia as an out-patient procedure, meaning you will be able to go home that same day. Full recovery to normal activity level typically takes 2-4 weeks.
